Although it trades now, the outlook for it is bad. It will have whatever is left from the assets that GM isn't taking with it, and also a bunch of liabilities GM doesn't want. So while it may be ok for a day trade, when all is said and done, the value of the old stock will probably be zero. Or so close that you would need a wheelbarrow to have enough shares to buy a drink.
