Original costs of 100 shares of MO purchased in 2003: = $8.373

69 shares of Kraft Foods (KFT) spin-off @ 23.84% value (Apr 02, 2007)
Basis of 69 shares of KFT = $8,373*.2384 = $1,996
New basis of 100 shares of MO = $6,337

100 shares of Altria (PM) spin-off @ 30.5% value (Mar 31, 2008)
Basis of 100 shares of PM = $6,337*.305 = $1,933
New basis of 100 shares of MO = $4,444

Basis of shares as of today - Oct 22, 2009

69 shares of KFT = $1,996
100 shares of PM = $1,933
100 shares of MO = $4,444
