When will the selling of stock stop? Why have there been five consecutive selling days?

on friday 16, october a few billionaires got caught with their hand in the cookie jar, so to speak. they were arrested early morning. a few hours later the philadelphia nasdaq stopped all trades without explanation. their was an outrage on the floor. i still don't know the reason or care.
if you are talking about the week before, their was quite a bit of tension about how third qtr earnings would do. they bounced back after apple made good on i phone. which is consistent with analyst projections, but they still had problems with inflation (which is why volume and price share with gold and basic commodities spiked).
