How can I purchase 70 shares of ACOM stock?
Again, I want to purchase 70 chares of ACOM stock (ancestry.com) (about $1,000 give or take) and do not want to be eaten alive with commission fees.

You open an account with a broker of your choice. A brokerage house in the city is more efficient since you can ask them to review your application for completeness and you hand over a check for them.
Normaly, you would be able to buy the stock the next business day.
Internet trading would save you about $20 per trade. To trade the stock, you access to your internet account after you set up, get the quote for ACOM, if you want to buy immediately, buy at the "asking" price, otherwise you can specify the price you're willing to pay for but if the stock keeps moving up, you'll miss your chance.
On the listing of this site, I see SOGO as a reasonable broker, the others I do not like for various reasons.

Good luck on your first "home run to be"
Yesterday was a down day for ACOM but there were not many sellers

Get a broker.
I recommend Interactive Brokers - Traders Workstation.
They're online trading platform is easy to use.
They charge about $2 dollars commission on each trade.
You might as well buy 100 shares instead of 70.
Stocks normally trade in 100 share round lots.
You can open an account with $2,000.
Best of Luck with ACOM.
